Cartoon sound effects

Whing, bop, quack, pfffft! All those silly sounds that make a vlog and podcast more entertaining.

Cartoons are full of fun and whimsical playfulness. Part of what makes them so entertaining are all the silly sounds they use. Imagine Looney Toons or Simpsons without the sound design, and you’ve already diminished a lot of the hilarity. Or take Pokemon or Avengers without all the over-the-top sound effects and they won’t feel as active or alive.

Some effects are made to mimic life. Others go in the direction of the more fantastic: Whooshing airplanes for speeding coyotes, honking air horns for squeezed noses, and a plop with a mouth to go along to a poke in the stomach or the bursting of a balloon.

About the sounds

Whether you’re looking for the more fantastic or the more down to earth, our latest upload of 500 sounds carries a pretty good range. Our team set about with horns, fingers, mouths, maracas, farts and more in order to generate an expansive list of sounds perfect for all your cartoon needs.

While our last upload featured user interface effects played on the xylophone, this week we’ve departed from the musical and moved onto the zany to the max. We cover a variety of farts, punches, deflations, air horns, human duck sounds, and much, much more!

What can you use these sounds for?

These sounds are not just for cartoons. Many are highly usable for anyone who wants to add a positive and funny zest to their project. From vlogs to podcasts, cartoons to computer games, these sounds definitely bring something to the table.

You could, obviously, also layer in fart sounds to percussion on your latest future bass track too. There’s always that.

We release new sound effects for Smartsound Cloud every two weeks. Sign up for our newsletter to keep up to date with each new release.
