No, once a project is created it will stay licensed and you’ll always have access to it and your license on your account, even if your subscription expires. You cannot delete an existing project from your account.

Absolutely! As it’s a web-based app, there’s no need to download anything to any computer, which means you’re free to use it wherever you have an Internet connection.

No, exported projects can only be used for the project you specifically licensed and defined them for during the export. If you have used one of our tracks in a project and want to use it in another one, you will have to create a new project and export the track once more with a license that is specifically tailored to that project.

Absolutely! Once you export it, it’s yours to use any way you see fit, 100% royalty free. One export per project, and make sure you follow the terms of your license. That is, if you’re using your track for a third-party project, make sure that you have a Business plan.

Can I use your music on projects for third parties?2020-06-02T07:20:44+00:00

If you want to use our music in products for your clients, you need an active Business subscription plan. The personal plan does not allow that. Please note that your client needs to follow the license specifications of your subscription. If you need a different scope of license you can upgrade it on a project basis or upgrade your existing plan.

Your number of projects resets from the day of your subscription every month/year. Unused projects will not be carried over into a new time period.

Previews are exported as mp3 files containing an audio watermark, finished projects are exported as 48 kHz WAVs.

You can easily cancel your subscription at any given time in your account.
1. Please make sure to be logged in and navigate to “My Subscription” (or click here).
2. You will see an overview with the order number of your subscription. Please click on this number (starting with a #).
3. Click on the black “Cancel” button. That’s it!

Once your project is ready to be exported, save it to enter the name and type (video, podcast…) of your project. Then, you will get the ability to export it.

Apart from the exported music file you will receive a cue sheet for the project you created. Please take good care of this as this document will hold vital information about the music you have used.

You can access the Smartsound Cloud application by clicking on “Go To Web App” in the top menu and start perusing the music catalog for a suitable track for your project. Once you’ve put a track on the timeline, you can customize its length by dragging and dropping the edges of the track. You can add as many tracks to the timeline as your projects demands. Load the video into your browser to go with the track(s) at any time in the process. To save your project you need to create a user account. Click here for a most excellent written tutorial.

Our team of hard working musicians releases one or two albums of original stock music for your soundtracks each month.

We’ve also got a crew of diligent sound designers who add 500 brand-new sound effects every other week – always with a themed focus – providing you with all the tools you need to bring your projects to life.

Not at this time, sorry. If this is something you’d be interested in, please let us know! However, we think it’s pretty safe to say that our monthly subscription is cheaper than most of our competitors’ single track purchases.

I received a copyright claim on YouTube due to one of your tracks. What do I do?2021-12-06T10:25:05+00:00

First of all, this is nothing you need to worry about. If you have properly licensed the project during a subscription, there is nothing illegal about the use of the music. You should dispute the claim by going through YouTube’s dispute process, entering “Smartsound Cloud” as a reason. This should be enough to drop the claim. Some of Smartsound Cloud’s catalog is licensed on a non-exclusive basis by composers who also submit it to other venues. Sometimes, these venues upload the music into YouTube’s Content ID system even though they are not allowed to do so, which causes the false claims. But don’t worry about this, as they are easy enough to dispute.

Yes, all tracks in your FREE account are free and remain free forever. You can use them for your personal channels (including monetization) without any additional fees.

A huuuge variety. We currently have over 4,000 different tracks. Counting Smartsound Cloud’s customization options and variations, there are over 2,500,000 different possible variations. And on top of that, our musicians are hard at work spinning out new albums, month after month. With this variety and your own adjustments, this ensures that you will always have original music for your podcast and videos.

Not at all! You can see for yourself that we literally provide an infinite amount of tracks on the timeline.

A subscription gives you full access to our interactive music catalog (more than 4.000 interactive tracks!) for individual customization and use in your projects without watermarks. Depending on your subscription plan you are given a certain number of projects per month/year free to export. Once you’ve run out of that quota, you can conduct no more exports until the next term (month/year) of your subscription plan has started or you’ve upgraded your plan. In addition, you can upgrade your license on a per project basis if needed. To do so, just contact us at service@smartsound.com.

Once you cancel your subscription, your plan will run out at the end of your current subscription period. Your licenses are valid in perpetuity for the projects they were originally used for. You will always have access to download copies of your licenses, though you will lose the option to export any projects.

A cue sheet contains all legal information of a track: namely which music the track was used on, the length that was used, and the composer of the piece. Always keep your cue sheets in a safe place after you’ve released a project with our music in case you need to verify the use of music in your project.

What kind of video files does Smartsound Cloud support?2021-12-06T10:17:41+00:00

Support of your video format is fully dependent on the web browser you’re using. You are not uploading a video to our server, it is fully loaded from your local machine. The best supported video format for web browsers is usually .mp4 encoded with H.264 and AAC audio.

Why can’t I hear a mix part?2022-03-28T10:11:05+00:00

This might be because you’ve lowered the part in the mix, or because the variation doesn’t feature that part. You can always adjust it, or select another variation to hear that. Also, the intros of each track might not feature that instrument, and you might have to wait until the main body of the track.
