Creepy horror tracks to ensure your project sends shivers down your viewers’ spines!
Halloween is just around the corner and it’s time to get your scary projects prepared and in rotation. If you’re like me, the thrill has already begun. Ghosts are hanging on the walls, pumpkins are smiling with crooked teeth, the witches are cackling on their brooms, and paper bats are fluttering around the ceiling fans.
Every spooky project needs the right soundtrack. With that in mind, I’ve sorted out our top 5 spookiest albums to help you in your endeavors. Keep in mind with Smartsound Cloud, the editing is a breeze. You can easily adjust the length with a click of the button, and same goes for the mix, and getting a variation or two set for other scenes and uses. Check it out!
Possibly our seminal album when it comes to nightmarish sounds. The tracks really jangle the nerves with their dissonant strings, creepy effects, and stabbing brass punctuations. “Shadow Stalker” really has the feel of a modern Hitchcock movie with the psychotic piano build-up, while “Tooth Fairy” has a very terrifying dystopian droning sound with beautiful, distant, creepy piano pieces. “Epidemic” plays on the nerves with a driving organ and strings build up and let downs with more creeptastic piano tinklings.
The haunting echoes and mysterious tones of industrial beats and weaving drones define the theme of this dark album of “sinister machinations”. Build the mystery of a terrifying night out or a ghostly hunt through the cemetery with haunting piano sequences or driving distorted guitars, electronic rhythms dripping with reverb and dark, stuttered effects. Styles range from dark trap to dark ambient to straight industrial.
Twisted Trails follows the theme of super dark cinematic music. This collection of hybrid cinematic tracks is the right combination of mysterious and thrilling, compelling your audience to keep asking questions and stay in their seats. The album matches the concept of a true original motion picture soundtrack, unfolding piece by piece, to allow you to easily find the right scene that fits your need. These tracks include pulsing bass lines, tension-building string pads, popping desperado guitars, and espionage-flavored melodies. The album definitely has more of a sound of your classic detective movie, but tracks like “Riddle Theme”, “A Storm Is Coming”, and “Around Every Corner” can certainly do their parts to building tension before a horrifying reveal.
In part heroic and in part twisted, Epic Trailer Hybrid has a lot to offer for Halloween fans. These powerful and tense hybrid tracks can certainly help tell your darkly intriguing stories. Contrasting heavy synths, dynamic orchestral arpeggiations and blasting horns with quiet piano strokes, mysterious violins and foreboding drones, a track from this album will undoubtedly be the finishing touch to make your scary saga a potent masterpiece. The intros to “Otherworldly” and “Hyperspace” can help build nightmarish moods, and “Foreigner” can be used for the climax of any horror film.
With orchestra tracks like “Vulnerability” and metal tracks like “Hellgate”, Thrilling Trailer still remains one of my favorite Halloween-themed albums. Every one of these nightmarish tracks can help terrify your audience. It includes drones and pulses, tension-filled staccato strings, horn blasts and choral warnings of terror. Be afraid, be very afraid.
We hope you enjoy our latest sounds and stay tuned for the great incoming stock music sounds we’ve got lined up for you in November!
