Everybody moves to the beat of the drum
In the modern trailer, we hear the pounding of bass kicks over and over, smacking you in the face with each heart thudding impact. In one scene, we might hear the gentle tinkling of windchimes – perfectly imitated by Tibetan singing bowls – or to punctuate a point in a commercial, a massive gong hit.
There can never be too many percussive sound effects. In nearly every visual scenario, we’re looking for ways to further heighten the auditory experience. That’s what brings in full audience immersion, and that’s one of the things we at Smartsound Cloud are really looking to help you achieve.
There’s no doubt about it, us bringing you more high-quality sounds helps you deliver that immersive experience.
About the sounds
Our previous upload of 500 animal groans, grunts, and squawks left us squealing. Our audio engineers were knee deep in manure and glad to get off the animal farm when they got called to their next assignment. Off to the music studio they went downtown on all the percussion instruments that they could find lying around.
Now with this pack of percussive elements, we’re charging you up for a variety of musical experiences, along with some rhythmic and sequential elements as well. Included are these fine drum elements:
- Bass drum hits
- Tom-tom hits
- Caxixi
- Shaker
- Triangles
- Toy cymbals
- Drum fills
- Tibetan singing bowls
- Gong hits
- Modular synth percussive loops
- And more!
The team had a lot of fun pounding out some percussion, and hopefully it shows in their work.
What can you use these sounds for?
Percussive elements have a lot of use in sound design and sound effects. Never mind the simple tasks of using them for immediate emphasis on transitions or heartbeats. Many early sound effects were just a matter of taking common (and lots of uncommon) percussion instruments and using them in interesting ways. EQ a kick drum in the right way and you’ve got an angry child marching across the room, knock together some coconuts, and you’ve got horses galloping, and so on.
Each of these sounds were recorded with various uses in mind, the basic idea is that of the “original sound effects”, which often took various percussion instruments to simulate other sounds. Here we offer things like the caxixi, for instance, that can be used to emulate rain effects, or the Tibetan singing bowls which also sound similar to windchimes, or great for the background of meditation or reflective scenes.
Additionally, there are no limits on what you’re allowed to do with your downloads. Making music? No problem, download the sounds and use them on your latest production.
Stay tuned for the next upload when we’ll be bringing you some gore-filled treats!
