Construction and industry sound effects

Bulldoze your way to the right sounds of construction

The mafia bosses are having an intense discussion at the construction yard. The burning question is whether the body should be buried over here or over there. Meanwhile, diggers are shoveling mounds of dirt and bulldozers flattening the way for the heavier equipment.

The problem here of course is that you would probably be filming this scene in front of a green screen. Videos can be shot of all the heavy construction equipment, but the sound needs to be clean and grinding, edited for just the right amount of intensity and droning.

That’s where our latest upload comes in.

About the sounds

Our recent series of uploads covered all the sports you could need, from tennis and football to fencing, boxing and bicycling. We’ve now set about getting you accurate and high quality portrayals of the common heavy machines used at construction sites everywhere.

Our engineers went out to the nearest construction sites, armed with their shotgun mics, recorders, and headphones, and received all the strange gazes they could from the laborers. Despite not understanding why there’d be a team with the odd task of running around recording the sounds of their equipment, they were all friendly enough to turn on and off their tractor-pulls and diggers one hundred or so times so we could get the perfect takes.

With this upload, you can expect tractor engine sounds from idling to starting up, bobcats moving through rubble, gravel getting moved around, cement mixing, air blasts, dry cleaning machines blasting and blowing, and printing mechanisms spewing out blueprints.

That’s not all. Powered up by all the heavy loaders, we had quite an appetite and left the construction site for a restaurant kitchen. There’s nothing like the hum of dough mixing and the banging of an oven door to get your stomach growling.

What can you use these sounds for?

What can’t you use construction and industrial sounds for?! Other than quiet romantic moments, of course. Construction and industrial sound effects can be used for anything from construction scenes, kitchen scenes, garages, and anywhere you need some loud boost.

And then there’s all the layering opportunities here. Heavy air blasts and gravel shifts make for great basses for transitions, while all the heavy loading and grinding can fit in easily with industrial music tracks.

Stay tuned for the next upload when we’ll be bringing you doors and gates!
