The clock is ticking. Literally.
As your hero races through the streets looking for the kidnapped child, we hear the clock counting down, with each loud, resonant, mechanical impact echoing through the soundscape.
Or in more recent pop film acclaim, the clock bell tolling as the lich king murders his way to breaking out of the Upside Down, wreaking havoc to our heroes and their town.
Clicks, ticks, and tocks often become plot devices in and of themselves. It’s important then to get high-quality produced sounds to ensure that this plot point speaks at its best. These are things that most definitely would not be picked up well on a standard microphone while filming, and need to be cleaned up and used appropriately. The best way to do that is to use one of these pristine stock sounds recorded in our studios or on location.
About the sounds
It’s only natural that an upload of 500 mechanical sounds would follow collections of machines and doors and gates.
This week, we’ve uploaded 500 mechanical sound effects. Anything that ticks and tocks were our target, from clocks and watches, to music boxes, toy robots, box cutter adjustments and even nervous tapping with a key.
Our sound engineers opened up grandfather clocks, stopped by tinkerer’s shops with their Schoeps and hit things with spoons and Senns to delve into the proper sonic world.
