Sound Effects for Musical Instruments

Finger slaps, horn toots, and bell rings chime in this upload.

Kids in the garage practice their instruments when the clown aliens attack. Hitting notes on the grand piano while romantically talking to a partner. The twang of a mandolin as it’s sat down after the Irish band wraps up their show.

The stories we tell almost always involve musical instruments somewhere, whether in the background or on the main stage. Add life to your scenes that involve musical instruments with these quality recordings covering various notes from various sources.

About the sounds

For this orchestra of sounds, we uploaded 500 files of beautiful, pristine notes and tones. Armed with top-quality mics, our team went down to the local music conservatory, rounded up a pack of lost and wandering students, and had them play as expressive of tones they could get out of them. And here were the results.

The last upload brought all the devastating sounds of falling and smashing debris, while this one brings you toots and trills. It’s a collection of musical instruments commonly found in rock, jazz, and folk bands. We’ve included such a range from saxophone styles and bass clarinet harmonics, to a bowed bass and classical piano transitions.

What can you use these sounds for?

The main elements can be used for any scenes with musical instruments. This collection though really helps to add an extra flair to your intro or outro, and if you’re savvy with a sampler than to create your own instruments even. Useful for transition effects as well.

We release new sound effects for Smartsound Cloud every two weeks. Sign up for our newsletter to keep up to date with each new release.
